Does anyone have a legible scan of the standard-triumph hardware catalog? ISTR that someone touched up the scan that's on the web, with improved readability.

Thanks Peter, Thanks Don:

I have green and blue parts books plus Bentley.
I stopped using the parts books a while back due
to lack of specifics. I had forgotten the blow-up
sheets. My bad.

The Triumph hardware download is worth it's weight
in gold! Because I have no point of reference, I remove
car parts, drive them over to the speciality fastener shop
and more or less purchase blind , bolts and nuts that fit.

Now I can purchase specific!

fantastic,

thanks both.

Actually, the parts books can be rather helpful. If you see a "traditional" six-digit Triumph part number, theres' something relatively special about the bolt/nut/whatever. But if there's a number such as KX4508, that number tells you it is a setscrew, cross-recess, flat countersunk 80 degre head, No. 10 UNF, 1" in length.

There is a summary chart for all this at the Canley Classics web site.

Don/Peter:

I think I have it correct now. Do
either of you see any blatant blunders
in my set up to install the trailing arm
Paul sent to me?

Thanks,

D

Uh, just one Dale. You forgot to install them on the car!

Joking aside, looks good from what I can see.

I would check the u-joint flange assembly - I don't think that they use washers but I don't have a TR6 parts manual so I don't really have any reference. On my TR4A, I found that I had to use the factory flange bolts because the new ones that I bought were a little too long. It's more common to find that TR use a lot of 1/4" increment bolt lengths (even some 1/8" increments) and very uncommon to find them at the hardware store.

Now you got to do it.

One more thing. It looks like you are using grade 8 bolts. Be sure to also use grade 8 washers and nuts with them.

Mr Tinster, Dunno if you got the chance to explore the permatex url that someone posted. I think it might be worthwhile for you(and anyone installing nuts and bolts and gaskets) to eyeball the website. I've been using "The RIght Stuff for better than 8 years and it's great. Loctite(Same as Permatex fasten stuff) takes the place of lots and lots of lockwashers.
