It is 72 degrees today in the SF Bay area. Loaded the bikes on the TR3 this morning, drove to the bikepath trailhead and biked to our local Memorial Day ceremony....Excellent!

Nice. Back in the early '70s I had a TR3 and was into dirt bike riding. I took the passenger seat out and was able to load my 250cc Yamaha in there and head out to abuse myself.

Great way to enjoy the Holiday! I'm cooking ribs and contemplating puting the body on the frame Thursday.
Raised the flag today and saluted all the Vets that helped allow me to do what I enjoy doing. An altogether wonderful day.
If you are a Vet, I thank you!

Cheers, Tinkerman

In 1998, I toured England for 4 weeks and pre-arranged my tour so I could attend 16 different TR groups at their local monthly meetings, usually (always) in a pub.

I met a chap at the local group meeting of the North London TR Register group. This chap had a midnight blue TR5 and he could remove his steering wheel - much as in a Formula 1 race car. It took a key to permit him to unlock it from the column and once he had removed it, he could re-lock the clamping device onto the end of the steering column. I thought it was very interesting.

Also, on the rear deck he had a rack for his racing bike and when I went into the crowded pub, I immediately knew which chap was the TR5 owner. He was the only chap there dressed as if he was ready for the "Tour de France".

As long as he didn't forget to put the steering wheel back on - as Damon Hill once forgot on his Williams and was penalized.

Nice TR3, Great way to spend the day around the bay!!
What part of the Bay area do you live in? There are a few of us TR guys in Contra Costa County. Hayward show on June 6.

Hi Dan,

I am in Concord, near the Walnut Creek border. You are close to me I think.

Did you go the the MG show in Danville last week? Tim

No I missed the Danville show. Five of us LBC owners went to the woodlands British car show. Lots of cool British cars!
