Belated congrats to BCF-member Michael O. and his team-mate for a First in class and 9th overall in the 2008 ~Targa Newfoundland~ !

And I think I am correct to say that you were in the oldest car in the event too (1953 A-H 100).

I know I'm almost a month late with this, but anyway....Great Job!

Hope to see you Sunday at Hunt Classic.

About two minutes of our penalty time was accrued on the last section of the second day--the entry back into Gander--as a result of damage suffered on the previous leg.

About 300 meters from the end of the penultimate section (Glenwood) we hit a tremendous pothole not called out in the route book and broke two rear links, but because we had been ahead of time we actually made time on that leg.

There was only about 30 minutes between the conclusion of Glenwood and the beginning of Gander and we simply tied down the rear axle to the frame with ratchetting nylon straps and ran the Gander leg at extremely reduced speed so we would get a time, albiet a penalty, which amounted to about two minutes.

It is our estimate that but for this incident we would have finished with under a minute in accumulated penalties and come in fifth overall.

Neat-O!!!

Heart-felt and hardy CONGRATULATIONS!

...struggling old Brit iron around is absolutely insane, but if it were at ALL possible I'd be doin' it too. Much admiration and a bit of jealousy for ya Michael.

WOOHOO!!!

Congrats, Michael.

I saw your 3000 at the Hunt Country Classic today, very nice.

Great show, large numbers of people there. And for the first time, parts vendors.

Cheers!

Hi Mark--

Sorry I missed you. Actually that was my wife's 3000 which she drove out. The Elva was also parked in front of the house.
